Eagle Island State Park is a place for all outdoor enthusiasts. Just outside of Boise, the park spans over 540 acres and is a haven for all outdoor facilities featuring over five miles of equestrian trails for horseback riders, hard paths and nature trails. Boating is permitted in the summer as is the use of the waterslide. Other activities that may be explored include picnicking, volleyball, nature hikes, and fishing.
The Gem County Historical Museum was first opened in 1973 with the primary focus of interpreting the lives of people in early Emmett. Chronicled through a large collection of photographs and full sized displays of a general store, a turn of the century parlor, a laundry room, and a combined doctor’s and dentist’s office, early inhabitants of Emmett are explored beginning with the Native Americans who first inhabited the land, the trappers and miners who also contributed to the growth of the area, the settlers who forged the irrigation system and the fruit industry.
